Closing the event tech integration gap

Event Tech Live sat down with co-founder Matteo Poggio to talk about Connector — custom middleware for organisers, born from on-site experience.
The one missing feature
Every organiser knows the moment: the platform is right, the team likes it, and then it will not do the one thing the event needs — alert the team when a VIP arrives, talk to the CRM, or produce the live report the client keeps asking for. Waiting for a vendor roadmap rarely fits the show date.
Connector is the third option between waiting for the roadmap and rebuilding the stack.
As an event planner, have you ever experienced having the perfect platform that is missing only one feature? The one thing that you really need at that moment.
What Connector does
First, integration: live-syncing data between systems by API. Then, on top of that data, custom tools — a dashboard, a live report, or a service that sends a WhatsApp message when a VIP checks in. Middleware that completes the organiser’s stack, working with the platforms already in it.
We do not create new software. We work with our software partners. There are plenty of amazing platforms out there. We are just completing the experience of the organiser.
In practice: 13,000 attendees, three ticketing platforms
At one of the biggest conventions in Canada, tickets had been sold through three ticketing platforms. Fenix merged those databases by API into a single system that handled badge creation.
Organisations had bought tickets in blocks, and each one had to be renamed before reaching an attendee — impractical by hand at that scale. Fenix built a tool that matched related tickets automatically (order ID, email, external ID and more), so buyers could see how many tickets they had, how many were assigned and how many were still pending.
Fenix was built from the road, drawing on our hands-on onsite experience to work backwards and develop technology that solves real challenges on the ground.
